Agents Overview

Agents are specialized AI assistants that you can create, customize, and share. Each agent is configured with specific instructions, knowledge, tools, and an AI model — making it an expert at a particular task or topic.

What Are Agents?

Think of agents as pre-configured AI colleagues. Instead of explaining what you need every time you start a chat, you (or your team) can create agents that already know:

  • What they should do — through custom instructions and prompts
  • What they know — through attached knowledge sources and documents
  • What tools they can use — such as web search, canvas, connectors, or image generation
  • How they should respond — through model selection and conversation starters

Types of Agents

The platform supports three types of agents, each with a different creation approach:

TypeBuilderBest For
SimpleGunniesQuick, natural language agent creation — describe what you want and the AI helps build it
CortexCortexDetailed, form-based configuration — precise control over every setting
WorkflowWorkflowComplex, multi-step workflows — visual flow-based agent building

The Agents Page

The Agents page is your central hub for managing all agents. It works similarly to a file manager, with three views:

Home

The landing view shows:

  • Favorite agents — Agents you've starred for quick access
  • Recently used agents — Agents you've chatted with recently
  • Quick actions — Buttons to create new agents
